Rep. Dave Vella Receives IEDA’s 2024 Legislator of the Year Award 

The Illinois Economic Development Association is proud to announce Representative Dave Vella as our 2024 Legislator of the Year! The IEDA’s annual Legislator of the Year award is given to a member of the General Assembly who advocates for economic development programs and legislation. The IEDA Board of Directors commends Rep. Vella for sponsoring the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s omnibus legislation in 2024 to improve the state’s tax credit programs and business development tools.

On November 20, 2024 IEDA Chairman Ken Springer (pictured with Rep. Vella below), Executive Director Henry Mohn, and Lobbyist James Sherwood met with Rep. Vella at his Springfield office to present him with the award and discuss the current and future state of economic development in Illinois.
